Earthtone Creations came out of a mentorship, not a business school. Owner James Heustess learned the trade under Tim Comer, a well-known Fayetteville nurseryman who built the foundation this company still runs on today.
The stripe in our logo is a tribute to James's grandfather, Jim Heustess, who owned American Waste Systems. It's a reminder that what we build here is earned over time, not claimed on a website.
Half a century of working properties in Moore County and Cumberland County teaches you things no course ever could.
We started in 1976 under the mentorship of a respected Fayetteville nurseryman. That foundation, not a franchise manual, is what guides how we approach every property today.
Whether we're on a weekly mowing contract or rebuilding a front yard from scratch, we follow the same process every time. No rushed jobs because it's a small property.
Most of our residential and commercial clients have been with us for years. That kind of repeat business doesn't come from marketing. It comes from showing up and doing what we said we'd do.
Good landscaping holds its value. We've seen what happens when it's done wrong. We plan every project with the next five years in mind, not just today.
Timing matters in landscaping. The right service at the right time protects your investment and keeps your property at its best through every season.
We come out to your Moore County property, take a look at what you're working with, and ask the right questions. No charge, no obligation.
Based on your property's actual size and condition, not a package price. We'll walk through what's included and what it costs before anything starts.
Our crew arrives on time, does the work properly, and doesn't leave until it looks right. You'll hear from us if anything comes up, not after the fact.
Verified reviews from homeowners and property managers across Moore County and Cumberland County.
"There's a lot of work ahead, but I like the way you do things. This won't be a one-and-done — looking forward to a good, long relationship."
"I walked out to my backyard after the crew finished. All I could say was, 'Holy sh**.' I'll let that speak for itself."
"You did a beautiful job on our yard!"
Straight answers about how we work, what we cost, and who we serve.
Yes. We come out to your property at no charge, walk the space, and put together a real quote based on what we actually see. No phone estimates, no package pricing. You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before anything starts.
We serve residential and commercial properties across Cumberland County, Moore County, Lee County, Harnett County, and surrounding areas — including Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Fayetteville, Aberdeen, Sanford, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, Fort Liberty, and more. If you're within roughly 50 miles of Pinehurst, give us a call and we'll let you know.
We quote based on your property — its size, current condition, and what you want done. We don't sell packages that may or may not fit what you actually need. The one exception is pine straw, which is priced at $7.50 per bale installed. Everything else is quoted after we walk the property.
No. As long as we have access to the areas that need work, you don't need to be present. Many of our regular clients aren't home during service. We'll reach out if we run into anything unexpected.
For most residential properties in the Moore County area, weekly or bi-weekly service keeps lawns in consistent shape through the growing season. During slower months, monthly service may be enough. We'll tell you what we'd recommend for your specific property after walking it — not before.
Both. We work with clients on ongoing maintenance schedules and take on one-time projects like sod installs, landscape redesigns, pine straw, and cleanups. Ongoing clients get scheduling priority, but we don't turn down good work.
Yes. Earthtone Creations LLC is fully licensed and insured for the work we perform. If you need documentation for a property manager, HOA, or commercial account, we can provide it.
